Getting there

Okay, after giving myself a minor heart attack realising once again that I have somehow lost more than 2 weeks in the blink of an eye, I have managed to finally get some scrapping done this week. Unfortunately this has coincided with the Monkey deciding her usual 2+ hour nap in the afternoons will now be shortened to forty minutes - if that. But I am making do with what I have at least.

So here are four of my six pages for the month. I am really disappointed in the birthday one, I think I don't like the colours in it or something? So I may redo it at a later date but for the moment I am trying not to get hung up on stuff like that, and just concentrate on getting this book finished so I can start scrapping some other things as well. It will be a huge relief when it's all done! I am going to print it out as a photobook through snapfish so I just hope it turns out well.

Queen of productivity!

As much as I am missing the Monkey today and as quiet as our house is, it's amazing how much you can get done without a little one underfoot!

I have spent a lot of today doing some digiscrapping which has been great. Unfortunately I think my version of Photoshop (PS Elements Version 2 - at least 6 years old I think!) and/or my computer are on their last legs so it has been rather frustrating dealing with files that won't open and close when I want them too. But even so I have managed to get three pages done and am working on my fourth.

Again they are all Monkey based as they will be going into her First Year Digiscrapbook. The 'Headstands' one incorporates a Jessica Sprague tutorial on overlays that can be found here. I have been wanting to do this for ages so it was once again good to see how easy it was.

And in other news, I am very proud to say the study is almost perfectly tidy now, will upload some pics tomorrow as proof. I forget how lovely it is being in here when it's all nice and organised.

Just another Manic Monday

Jessica Sprague is the most inspiring website I have come across in my few short months of interest in digital scrapbooking. I love her tutorials and products, and the second I get my hands on a decent version of PhotoShop I am going to sign up to one of her online courses which I hear are amazing!

The tutorials from here are so simple, which is what I need in particular when it comes to photo editing.

Here are a couple of edits I have done based on her focal point tutorial. I love the idea behind this but unfortunately I don’t think my photos do the technique justice. My aim is to now take a few photos with using this technique in mind and see if I can improve on what I have had a play with here.

Invites finished

I have spent a while trying to perfect the Monkey's birthday invites and I must say I am rather pleased with how they have turned out! We are doing a ladybug theme for the day, should be fun.

And no, we don't really live in Monkeyville to be honest. We haven't lived there in ages! ;)

Wait a minute!

Poor neglected puppy, if only he knew what was to come! He is just beautiful with the Monkey though, so very patient and loving with her. A little girl's best friend for sure.

Manic monday night as usual - super quick blog! This is another from the Monkey's scrapbook that is still in progress.

From little things, big things grow!

This one is another page from the Monkey’s soon to be finished scrapbook. After waiting what seemed like forever to finally fall pregnant, I was so excited to see change in my ever expanding belly – pathetically so and I am a little shamed to admit I started taking photos at 9 weeks, dying to see any little difference that couldn’t be attributed to too much chocolate!

I kept up with the belly pics regularly, and loved seeing how things changed. I loved being pregnant in so many ways, and the pregnant tummy was my favourite bit of all I think. I had never felt so good about my body in all my life. Shame the same thing couldn’t be said for afterward though, but hey, the joys of motherhood I guess.

Seems like forever ago!

Monday and Tuesday nights are nuts in this house as they are my work days, so my blog entries are guaranteed to be short and sweet!

I think this is what was my first ever digiscrap page. At the moment I am working on a digiscrap album for the Monkey, from pregnancy through to the end of her first year, which is fast approaching! It's a big part of what I am concentrating my free time on at the moment, in order to get it finished in time. Anyway, this is what I think will be my first page of the scrapbook, which I am going to print out as a photobook when I am done.

I remember being pretty pleased with it as my first effort, and I must admit I do still quite like how it turned out. Although it really does seem incredible to me that this photo was only taken a little over a year ago now - it feels like forever!
