Almost there

One week of work left for me, which is actually three days. Hallelujah.

I love my job but as usual it has been crazy busy and I am ready for a break.

And even more than looking forward to a break, I am looking forward to getting some time to do some sewing!

So my plans are to:

*Make the nappy pants I bought the pattern for and completely screwed up on the first attempt.

*Make two softies for two little kids my parents are supporting who are in hospital right now.

*Maybe enter the scary scary world of quilting.

*Oh and still haven't started the Easter sewing...oops!

Can't wait.

Huge, beautiful, luxurious pleasures

As of next Monday, the HTC and I have been married for 7 years. 7 years! It pales in comparison of course to the time we have been together, which this year reached a point where we have spent more of our lives together than apart, but still seven years is nothing to laugh at.
The last couple of years have been a challenge in particular, which of course coincided with the arrival of The Monkey, although not directly related. But even so, we have worked hard, damned hard at our marriage for the last little while because we needed to, and now we are starting to be in a good place again because of it.
So next Sunday to celebrate, we are going away to the gorgeous place in the photo - Mt. Lofty House. The Monkey is having a sleep over at her grandparents which they are so excited about. We have a deluxe room with a balcony and a view over the valley. And the thought of a sleep in, decadent room, room service and just being able to be 'us' for a few hours is all kinds of wonderful. I can't wait.
